We’re just talking to ourselves And no one cares nor ever will What you say and what you do is dissimilar to my view It’s impulse A wall to be reckoned with Human behaviour at its best A moment comes a moment goes Caving in on itself Caving in Caving in Caving in Caving in Caving in Caving in Caving in Caving in

Eradication 01:40
Trapped where we are while the carcass rots Bleeding ignorance but the blood still clots You say you see the end and don’t know how to live Pulling on the strings to make me sing There’s no contest Power and the conquest We’re in the process Eradication There’s no contest Power and the conquest We’re in the process Eradication Nothing from the past as we hoist up the mast Pulling on the cord to watch the heart stop You say you know the way to get the upper hand Trapped where we are when our minds all rot There’s no contest Power and the conquest We’re in the process Eradication There’s no contest Power and the conquest We’re in the process Eradication

about

Cheersquad Records & Tapes is elated to release 'Periodical Fits', a 6 track 7” by Perth punk luminaries LEECHES! The release extends the band's repertoire, pushing a heavier and more melodic delivery than their previous releases. The band also pay homage to Portland’s punk pioneers The Wipers with a cover of ‘Let’s Go Away’ from the 1983 release ‘Is This Real’. 'Periodical Fits' is available on limited edition numbered 'piss yellow' 7" vinyl and digital download.

The band recorded, fuelled by freshly roasted coffee beans (from the well-oiled, yet refined, establishment Dome Café prides itself to be 365 days of the year), on a 40 degree day at Dirty Merkin Studios in Morley, behind the carpet shop, across the road from Morley Galleria in Perth.

LEECHES! are a dynamic punk band from Perth, Australia. Founded in 2011, the group consists of lead vocalist/guitarist Benny Ward (Screwtop Detonators, Rinehearts), bassist Glenn Salter (Wizard Sleeve, Sharon) and drummer/vocalist Lee Jenkins (Atolah, Zerodent). LEECHES! quickly established themselves as one of the most promising acts in the Australian music scene, with their blend of short, fast and chaotic punk.

Their music is heavily influenced by the golden era of 80s skate punk, but with a modern edge that sets them apart from the pack. The band's live performances are renowned for their humour, raw energy and frenzied intensity, with audiences often left feeling both exhilarated and a little unnerved by the experience.

LEECHES! released their first EP ‘ROTT’ in 2012, a raw 4 track 7” that was critically acclaimed and well-received by fans. Following the success of their first release, the band followed up with a full-length album in 2013 ‘Lords of Dullsville’, a 14 track explosion of mental chaos showcasing the band's unique delivery of fast and faster, available on 12” LP and vinyl CD. In 2014 the band released a Split 7” with fellow Perth band Agitated, providing 4 blisteringly fast and melodic tracks to compliment the delivery of Agitated’s fierce punk. The band's fourth release ‘Blurred Visions’, a 15-track full length album, came in 2015. This CD release delved into the versatility of the band with a focus on melody and nail bitingly fast punk anthems. The band has toured extensively throughout Australia and Indonesia. They have built up a strong following and have played with many bands such as the Misfits, Dead Kennedys, The Meanies, Hard-Ons, Cosmic Psychos, Me First & the Gimme Gimmes, Radio Birdman, Frenzal Rhomb, Celibate Rifles, Body Jar, X, Stiff Little Fingers, Propaghandi, Slates, High on Fire, Agent Orange and many more.

With their unmistakable sound and high-energy live shows, LEECHES! have a reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative bands in the Australian music scene. Whether you're a fan of punk or just great rock music, LEECHES! are a band you won't want to miss.

As with all LEECHES! recordings to date, all songs were mixed & mastered by the expert Alien Smith (Bergerk). Cover artwork provided by the obviously skilled Wirosatan!

about

LEECHES! Perth, Australia

Short. Fast. Chaotic. Punk. This is a fairly accurate summation of LEECHES!, from Perth, Australia. They've influences from the golden era of 80's skate punk, with a nod to the world of fast, maximum rock 'n' roll. Imagine if someone greeted you with a handshake, yelled at your face for 45 seconds, gave you a hug, screamed a little more, then gave you a little nod and a grin and casually moved on. ... more
